Doris Marie Wood ended her earthly journey and began her heavenly journey on March 18, 2020.

She was born August 16, 1934 in Providence, R.I. Her wonderful kind humor will be missed by everyone she touched in her life. Her passion for life was always strong.

She married her lifetime friend and soul mate Milton Wood on September 6, 1954. Together they began an adventure that took them around the world as an Air Force family. She was a wonderful Mother to seven children and many others that came into her life.

She was a devout Catholic and loved attending church. Doris loved dancing, camping, traveling, and most of all UT football. She also loved anything Disney and cooking for her family during the holidays. Decorating the house for Christmas was always a fun production. Doris was preceded in death by her husband Milton F. Wood and son Milton D. Wood. She is survived by her son, Michael Wood and wife, Ronda Wood of Austin, Texas, Daughter Carol Hamilton and Husband Don Hamilton of Leander, Texas, son Donald Wood and wife Kim Wood of Georgia, Robert Wood and wife Kathy Wood of The Colony, Texas, William Wood and wife Brenda Wood of Austin, Texas and Kenneth Wood and wife Claudia Wood of Austin. Grandchildren, Rebecca Jarvis and Christian Jarvis, William Egger and Serena Egger, Matt Wood and Renee Wood, Tanner Wood, Katy Wood, Ryan Wood, Emily Wood, Joe wood, Brianna Wood and Paul Wood. 3 great grandchildren Brandon and Damon Jarvis and Kayden Egger. Many nieces and nephews from California to Maine and in-between and so many other honorary family members who have always been a part of our wonderful family.

A private service due to the pandemic will be held and officiated by Pedro Barrera III on March 23, 2020, at Cook-Walden Capital Parks.

We will have a celebration and gathering of family and friends at a later date.

To our beautiful Doris Wood: Your smile and laughter were infectious. The love you had for your family was unparalleled. So many happy, joyful memories. You may only had been 5 feet tall but you made everyone around you feel like they were larger than life. You are loved, you will be remembered and now you and Milton D/Milton F are together again. God bless you Doris!

One of the most genuinely kind people I’ve ever had the honor of knowing. Her light will always shine through the eyes of all her children. Doris and Woody were always there if anyone needed anything. Two Angels. We loved them both.
Sending prayers if comfort to all the family.

Love,
Mark and Melinda Stevens
