Dorothy was born September 11, 1934 to Isaac Cavanaugh Sr. and Rosetta Dallas Cavanaugh in Austin, TX. She passed away January 7, 2022 surrounded by loved ones in Pflugerville, TX.
Dorothy was baptized and attended Goodwill Baptist Church as a child and as an adult she was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She also attended Rosewood Avenue Baptist Church with her sister, Sue Amos.
Dorothy was known for her beauty, inside and out. She was always trying to help people in her neighborhood by taking them to the store, providing meals or paying for odd jobs just to help someone out. She loved playing pool, watching the Dallas Cowboys, LA Lakers and tennis matches. Her favorite shows were Westerns, Walker, Texas Ranger and afternoon talk shows. She especially loved having her family over for dinner, family reunions or just “get-togethers”. She will be missed here on earth but her presence will remain forevermore through the memories she shared with her loved ones.
Dorothy was predeceased by her parents, sisters: Mae Etta Mays, Patricia Smith, Mattie Washington, brothers: Isaac Cavanaugh, Jr and George Cavanaugh, Sr. She is survived by her two sisters: Sue Amos and Tommie Carter, children: Laverne Simmons, Marilyn Robinson, Yolanda Washington (Levell, Sr.) and Terrence Sorrells.
