Dorothy was employed for 25 years with the Motor Vehicle Division of the Texas Highway Department. Dorothy was a longtime member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Pflugerville, where she served as a Greeter, was involved with Women’s Missionary Society, Altar Guild, as well as Sunday School, Junior Mission Band; and Luther League while her children were growing up. Her greatest joy was her family, especially her cherished great-grandchildren, Tristan and Jordan. Happiness came from sharing her generous and kind nature with those around her and having her hands in the soil of her vegetable and flower gardens, and of course being in the kitchen, cooking wonderful food, just as her mother did, preparing way too much which was just fine with all partakers. Growing up on a farm during the Depression, she learned frugality, acquired a love of nature, and through picking cotton, and canning food from the garden knew the value of hard work.
Dorothy was preceded in death by husband Willie Plattow, son Ricky Stewart, parents Werner and Annie Dally, brothers Walter and Werner W. Dally, and son-in-law Earl Hagn. Surviving her are daughter Brenda Stewart Hagn of Round Rock, granddaughter Heather Smith and husband Chris Smith of Soper, OK, and great-grandchildren Tristan Smith and Jordan Smith; sister-in-law Vivian Dally and great-nieces Larissa Ensor and Kristen Kieschnick and numerous cousins.
