Mr. Douglas Lee Renshaw, known to all as "Doug," followed his father, L. W. Renshaw, and his, mother, Patricia J. Renshaw (McGinnis), on the road to Heaven on the 13th day of November, 2020. Doug was born July 29, 1961 in Midland, Texas. He moved as a teenager to Austin and hired on with Mojica Plumbing. He slept for six months in his car and bathed at Barton Springs until he could afford a place to rent. He became a Master Plumber and started Renshaw Plumbing. Later, Doug began investing in the bar and restaurant business where he became quite successful.

He is survived by his two brothers, David and Daniel, and by four nephews and nieces: Elisabeth, David William, Maria, & Micaela. Doug was a kind soul who worked to follow the Christian tenants of love and charity. May God receive and bless his soul. And may God bless the souls of all who called him friend and of those who cherished him as family.

My condolences to the family. Doug has always been a great memory with Ray and I at Mojica Plumbing. My favorite one remains the one working with Willie Nelson's studio in Pedernales. Doug was such a Willie fan that he didn't want to finish the job and return to Austin. One day we had bad weather coming in and we called Doug and asked him to come back before the storm hit. Of course Doug was watching Willie play golf and dawdled until it was too late and he was stuck in the storm. Go rest high on that mountain Doug. We will remember you forever

Doug, when I heard you were sick, I said a prayer for you. I continued to pray every day that you would get better and fight your way back. I would get updates 4 or 5 times a week from Charlie, and he and I held on to hope and would talk about you and the good memories. I met you at the edge of town years ago and you were always fun to talk with and have a drink. The memories of going to Las Vegas many times will always be with me, you were definitely a lot of fun to hang out with. Your never ending generosity towards other and your friends was unmatched. I will miss you and think of You with a smile on my face in years to come. Thank you for your friendship and all your good qualities. You will be missed, until we meet again my friend.

Doug, you will be deeply missed. You were an awesome person. The Edge of Town was never the same after you left. It was like a puzzle that was missing a piece and that missing piece was you. RIP Doug RIP

A Willie Nelson Lyric Inspired Ode to Doug...

Douglas, The Last Thing I Needed First Thing this Morning is Heartaches by the Numbers. I guess I’ll have to deal with it in My Own Peculiar Way. Looks like it’s going to be a Bloody Mary Morning until the Whiskey River Takes My Mind because I Gotta Get Drunk. My Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain because this is A Little Unfair and It’s Not Supposed to be That Way. I Couldn’t Believe it Was True that The Seven Spanish Angels came to take another Angel Home. Now that you crossed the Bridge over Troubled Waters and are on The Sunny Side of the Street, Are you Ever Coming Home? I need Someone To Watch Over Me on an Uncloudy Day, perhaps as an Angel Flying too Close to the Ground. Because Everywhere I Go you will be Following Me Around. Do you think I’m Crazy for feeling so Blue? Do you Mind Too Much If I Don’t Understand? Because it’s Funny How Time Slips Away, for all The Good Times there is Nothing I can Do About it Now. But I will forever have Sweet Memories, A Wonderful Yesterday. You will be on Both Sides Now because you will be Always On My Mind and I Just Can’t Let You Say Goodbye. I wish you could Stay a Little Longer but you are On the Road Again. Thanks Again, my friend. Remember Me, A Good Hearted Woman until I’m Stardust and I’m Not Trying to Forget You Anymore. -The Bulldogs. Dee Hagemann and Tami Hottenstein

Sweet Doug, the shock of you being gone has not subsided, it's so unimaginable but gives me comfort to know that you left a mark in my soul with many happy and fun memories stored in my heart forever! I can still hear the soft whisper in your voice & your one of a kind laugh. It was so awesome to know a man that was happy, strong, confident, cool, unconfrontational, unprovoked and unafraid of anything in life singing melodies in his heart and on stage at the bars!! It was my pleasure to have known you and the loss of your life is surely sadness within my own personal life. GOD Bless and may you Rest in Peace❤️
