Edward Price

Edward Price, 76, of Lago Vista, passed away Friday, November 4, 2016. He was born in Harrisburg, Illinois on January 25, 1940. He graduated from Harrisburg Township High School and attended both Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Illinois and William Jewell College in Liberty, Missouri.

Ed married Janice Kay Merriman on April 8, 1961 and together had two children, Christa Gayle and Brad Alan. Ed was remarried to Susan Bathurst Price on July 14, 1990. He had a career at JCPenney as a retail manager in St. Louis, Oklahoma City, Dallas, Corpus Christi and Austin, TX. He also worked in customer service relations in the auto industry with Hendrix GMC and Capitol Chevrolet.

Ed will be greatly missed by his friends and family that he has left to cherish his memory. He had a laid back, unassuming demeanor that made anyone he met feel at ease. He was often greeted by “Hello, Mr. Ed” which never ceased to amuse him. He was a member of Rolling Hills Community Church and had a passion for sports, camping, travel and all things Snoopy! Ed was a big fan of the St. Louis/Arizona Cardinals (baseball and football), Texas Rangers, Terry and Bobby Labonte in NASCAR, and THE Texas Longhorns (Hook ‘em!). He finally posed for his U.S. Passport in May of 2010 and went on a Southern Caribbean cruise for his 25th wedding anniversary in 2015.

He is survived by his wife, Susan Bathurst Price, his daughter Christa Gayle Zimmerman and husband Keith, their daughter Jill Ann, all of Corpus Christi, TX, son Brad Alan Price and his children Robert Michael and Julie Marie, all of Georgetown, TX. He was predeceased by his father, Stanley William Price, mother Lora Caplinger and brother, Robert Price.

Visitation will be Wednesday, November 9, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Cook Walden, 6100 North Lamar, Austin, TX. The funeral service will be held the following day at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, November 10, 2016 at Cook Walden North Lamar.
