Elizabeth Sefcik Ray, age 87, passed away on January 9, 2014. She was born on August 1, 1926 in Taylor, Texas to Frank T. Sefcik, Sr. and Emma Freitag Sefcik. She attended schools in Taylor and Austin. She completed her senior year in Pampa, Texas, where she lived with beloved family members Angela and Bob Sanford. Elizabeth married J.W. (Jake) Ray in 1948, and he preceded her death. They had one son, Gregory Lynn Ray, who died on January 3, 2011. She retired from Brackenridge Hospital, where she had worked for many years.
She is survived by her only grandchild, Jesse Patrick Ray, who was the love of her life; her brother, Warren Sefcik and his wife Charlene; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 beginning at 12:00 noon, with funeral services following at 1:00 p.m. at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville. She will be laid to rest at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery.
