Elward "Boots" Walter Schumann

Elward Walter "Boots" Schumann was born on September 27, 1926 in Ledbetter, Texas to Henry and Clara Schumann. He was baptized on February 27, 1927 and confirmed on October 6, 1940 at the Waldeck Lutheran Church. He was united in marriage to Jeanette Seiffert on November 20, 1949 in Warrenton, Texas. Elward and Jeanette made their home in Austin where he was an Austin Firefighter for 24 years and a Carpenter.

Elward was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Clara Schumann, two sisters Vestrine Mueller and Laura Schumann, three brothers Henry, Louis and Harley Schumann, grandsons Garry Jr. and Randy Preusse, and great granddaughter Lily Voekel.

He is survived by his wife, Jeanette Schumann, of 67 years; daughters, Barbara and husband James Chovanec of Brenham and Laura Preusse of Thrall; son, Dennis Schumann of Leander; seven grandchildren; nine great- grandchildren; sister, Idalene Ross of Austin and numerous nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers are Jeff Chovanec, Cullen Chovanec, Tyson Voekel, Brandon Schumann, Eric Mackey and Paul McDaniel.

Visitation will be on May 5, 2017 from 5 p.m. until 8 pm. Funeral Service will be held on May 6, 2017 at 10 am at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery all in Pflugerville, Texas.
