My daughter Natalie and I are so very sorry for your loss. One day as we were leaving the school parking lot we saw Emilio. Natalie said "Hey mom there is my friend Emilio." I naturally like to embarrass my daughter so I rolled down the window and shouted "Hello Emilio!" Without hesitation he looked up, smiled, and waved back. My daughter went on to explain they sat next to each other in English class. He was kindhearted and helped her with her schoolwork. He was a gentleman and would always offer to get her a textbook and put her phone away. He was also silly in that he would pass her funny notes with doodles. She loved Emilio so much and I understand why. From the videos and pictures she shared with me, he had quite the sense of humor, an infectious laugh, and the sweetest smile. She also mentioned his love and talent for photography of dogs. She is going to miss Emilio everyday and we feel truly blessed that she had such a special friend. We will keep you all in our prayers. - April and Natalie

I’m speechless. He was such a kindhearted guy. I had him in my history class. He touched my heart. I got hugs from him everyday I came to class. One of the most amazing guys. Never gonna forget that amazing guy. I wish I gave him my number. I loved him deeply.

Remembering the day you moved in next to our house when we were young, not know we would hang out and become friends. Fun times lasted, but we would still come over for parties or events. Talking with you and your brother was fun, sharing funny videos, and showing us your skills of photography and art.

We were never particularly close, just people who passed in the halls. I remember him in the background though, a quite, smart, kind kid. All the photos of him make him seem sassy and like quite a character. Knowing someone our age, with so much life ahead of them that they did not get to live is tragic. I’m so sorry for you loss.

I was neighbors with Emilio’s family back in the early 2000s at the Rosewood apartments. My first memory of Emilio was when he was brought home from the hospital as a new born. I was playing outside with my sisters and I saw his dad carrying him out of the car. I used to play with Benny and Emilio as kids. Our moms kept in touch all of these years, so every few years I would see Emilio and Benny as well. Although we just said hi and bye I feel like we were meant to stay in each other’s lives for a reason. I left the funeral home with a heavy heart for Benny. I learned that they were truly best friends. I am also the eldest in my family and I couldn’t imagine what Benny is going through. I will continue to stay in touch with Benny to make sure he is okay. I know sometimes as the eldest we blame ourselves because I believe we are supposed to protect our younger siblings. You have an angel watching over you and your family Benny. Stay strong.

Emilio was my student in 6th grade and I have the best memories of him. He loved reading books and enjoyed our weekly trips to the library. Emilio was a quiet student but worked hard in Language Arts. He stayed for tutorials when he struggled and always made high test grades. In 8th grade he was my teacher aide. He loved drawing and would doodle all the time. I'll always have the fondest memories of this young man. I'm saddened by his passing but will never forget him. God bless you, Emilio.

I remember in French we would sit by eachother and draw. I always loved to see his smiling face, as did many around him. Emilio would always have a bright smile and could make the room brighten up and erupt with laughted despite his quiet personality.

He was my best friend, we did everything together and enjoyed most things alike. No matter what i was doing I’d always ask if you wanted to go out and just try out new things, we fought plenty of times but it was never something we wouldn’t get over a good talk and some food. I still wanted to get you a pc and camera so you could stop hogging mine. I still wish we could’ve played pokemon together. All i can do now is try and come to terms with your passing. I’ll never forget you for as long as I live and I swear to live on for you little man.
