

Erlinda was born on June 15, 1946 in Lingayen, Pangasinan, Philippines. Erlinda graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Adelphi College in Lingayen, Pangasinan. She taught 6th grade until she and her husband, Jose Cacapit, moved themselves and their two daughters to the United States in 1981 in the hopes of providing better opportunities for their family. Erlinda started her career working for the Fort Hood Child Development Center in Ft. Hood, Texas, until better opportunities were discovered in Austin, Texas where Erlinda spent 22 years at CarboMedics, Inc. in Quality Control. After CarboMedics moved their location abroad, she was able to spend an extended amount of time in Italy training new employees.
Erlinda enjoyed cooking, gardening, crossword puzzles and planning social gatherings. She served as a board member of the Philippine American Society of Austin.
Erlinda was preceded in death by her father, Dominador Bravo. She will be sadly missed by her loving mother Cecilia Bravo; husband, Jose Cacapit; brothers Bonifacio Bravo, Felipe Bravo, Rodrego Bravo, Roel Bravo, Roland Bravo, Ronnie Bravo and sister Leonida Cruz; daughters Jocelyn Richardson and Judy Jackson; son-in-laws David Richardson and Rickey Jackson; 7 grandchildren Jasmine Pierre’Auguste, Xavier Pierre’Auguste, Bocar Richardson, Vannessa Jackson, Brandon Richardson, Miles Richardson, and Javohn Jackson; numerous nephews and nieces.
Memorial services will begin at 6 P.M., Monday, October 21, 2013 in the Chapel of Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville. A Rosary service will be held immediately after.
The formal mass will be at 1:30 P.M. at St. Albert the Great Catholic Church in Austin, Texas.
