Evangeline was made a child of God through Holy Baptism on May 9, 1920. The Baptism was performed by Pastor K. G. Manz at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Austin, Texas. Evangeline reaffirmed her baptismal vows through the rite of confirmation on March 25, 1934 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Austin, Texas. Pastor K. G. Manz confirmed her and chose John 10:27-28 for her confirmation verse.
Evangeline attended St. Paul’s Lutheran School and graduated from the sixth grade as valedictorian. E. F. Wilkening was her teacher.
She attended Pecan Springs School in the seventh grade and University Junior High in the eighth grade. Grades nine through twelve were attended at Stephen F. Austin High School from which she received her high school diploma.
Evangeline worked for the American Optical Company during World War II. She later worked Dr. R. V. Murray, Sr. as receptionist.
On May 28, 1949 Evangeline and Eugene Harrie Bushacker were united in Holy Matrimony at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Austin, Texas. The ceremony was performed by Pastor Albert F. Jesse.
To their union were born two children, Timothy David and Elizabeth Ann.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Timothy and Peggy; daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth and David Rackley; grandchildren Peter John and Crystal Buschaker; Jennifer and Jonathan Rackley; brothers Elmer Schneider and Peter Schneider and sister Adele Williams.
