Geraldo Castro Cruzabra, 61, of Austin, Texas passed away on February 22, 2021. He had an intracranial hemorrhage on September 13, 2020 and was in a coma. He was born in Davao City, Philippines on March 10, 1959 to Guillermo and Davita Cruzabra.
Geraldo graduated from the University of Mindanao, where he received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering in 1979, graduated from MSU - IIT for his MBA in Finance in 1987, and attended law school at MSU- IIT (1989 - 1992).
He was married to Grace Joy B. Cruzabra on November 26, 1987. Geraldo worked as a Manager, System Analyst VI for the Department of Family and Protective Services; specifically, Data and Decision Support Program from March of 2006 to September of 2020 in Austin, Texas. He worked as an information systems manager for the National Steel Corporation from October of 1979 to May of 1998 in the Philippines.
Geraldo attended St. Albert the Great Catholic Church and has been a parishioner for 18 years. He had a passion for reading books, photography, traveling, collecting DVDs and watching movies, sports and politics. He enjoyed playing tennis, ping pong, badminton, chess, video games and bowling.
He is survived by his wife, Grace Joy B. Cruzabra; his four children, Gershwin B. Cruzabra, Gerald Jo B. Cruzabra, Gerhomme B. Cruzabra and Gerrace B. Cruzabra; his siblings, Jaime C. Cruzabra, Gilda C. Sinco, Romulo C. Cruzabra and Michael C. Cruzabra. He was preceded in death by his sister MA. Theresa C. Pamplona.
A visitation will be held on Friday, March 5, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a rosary starting at 6:30 p.m. in the Colonial Chapel of Cook-Walden Funeral Home; 6100 North Lamar Blvd. Austin, Texas 78752. Funeral Services will take place on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. also in the Colonial Chapel of Cook-Walden Funeral Home.
