

Gerry was born on January 4, 1926 in Dustin, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, E.L. “Mac” McCauley; her parents, Artie Kibbee Barton and Murray Barton; her sister, Maxine Jenkins and her grandson, Matthew Alan McCauley.
She graduated from Okemah High School in Oklahoma in May, 1943. She married her high school sweetheart, “Mac”, on July 14, 1943, while he was serving as a First Sergeant in the U.S. Army. While he was overseas, she returned to Okemah to wait with her mother and sister, where their son, Robert Michael, was born on July 22, 1944.
After the War, she, her husband and son moved to Texas, were she resided for the balance of her life. Gerry was a lifetime Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-grandmother and Homemaker. She spent the last four happy decades of her life in Austin, having previously lived in Amarillo, San Antonio and Dallas. Her greatest joy was in her family.
She loved to travel, and spent nearly 20 years, after her husband retired, traveling with him around the world, seeing the sites, and visiting church-sponsored missionaries, and across the country visiting their son and grandchildren.
She was a member of the Westover Hills Church of Christ. She was active in teaching in World Wide School Correspondence courses, helping many find their Savior. She was also active in the Freedom Church in the Austin area.
She is survived by her son, Mike, 11 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren: Grandson, Mike, Jr. and wife, Sally, and children, Mike III, Brooke, Chris and Nick, of Wolfforth, TX; Granddaughter, Tami, and children, Britney, Hannah, Catlin and Kameron, of Murphy, TX; Granddaughter, Kim, of The Woodlands, TX, and her daughter, Laken, of McKinney, TX; Grandson, David and wife, Melanie, and children, Tyler, Lindsey, Austin, Justin and Carson, of Rowlett, TX; Granddaughter, Shannan and husband, Brandon Davidson, and children, Mackinzie, Madison, Morgan and Malorie, of Mesquite, TX; Granddaughter, Rachel, and husband, Jeff Kearl, and children, Weston, Lauren, Avery and Eden of San Clemente, CA; Granddaughter, Meagan, and husband, Danny Robison, and children, Kendall and Keith, of Westminster, CO; Granddaughter, Sarah, and husband, Eddie Cervantes, of Henderson, NV; Grandson, Jon, and wife, Britney, and children, Luke, Emery and Ryder, of The Woodlands, TX; Granddaughter, Meredith, of Irving, TX; and Granddaughter, Catherine, of San Clemente, CA.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Mike McCauley, Jr., David McCauley, Jon McCauley, Brandon Davidson, Jeff Kearl, Danny Robinson and Eddie Cervantes.
Funeral arrangements are with Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home, 14501 North IH 35, Pflugerville, TX. Viewing will be Tuesday, March 20, 2012, from 6PM – 8PM at the funeral home. The funeral service will be at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 21, at 1PM. Interment will be at Restland Memorial Park, Dallas, TX on Thursday, March 22 at 2PM.
