I found Gertrude's obituary quite by accident.  I am so sorry for your loss.  My mother was Mozie Jean Bryan/Goodman she passed away in March of 2008.  She had kept in touch with Gertrude for years but I guess she lost contact when Gertrude went into the care facility.  She was kind enough to make copies of some pages of grandpa Atwood's bible for me for my genealogy.  I hope someone has the bible and pictures.  I am adding her obituary to my genealogy it is probably the best that I have ever seen written.  If one of you boys has any interest in genealogy please feel free to contact me and I will be happy to have you view the tree.  I keep it on Ancestry.com for safe keeping.

Gertrude was a special person and longtime friend.  The Helton family and our Sundbeck family go back many years...to school days at Sprinkle and Manor...also, common experience of life on a dairy farm.  Her memorial service was a wonderful tribute to her.  May the good memories of her be a comfort to each of you until we all meet again in Heaven.  Jewel Sundbeck

Gertrude was a wonderful friend to me. We met through our love of gardening - she stopped to ask me what the large, yellow blooming plant was in my yard. I enjoyed going and having coffee with her and chatting about our families, flowers, and faith.
