Grace Janelle Johnson

She attended Austin High School and later met the love of her life and married on March 12, 1949. They experienced a very special love until Chester passed away in 2002.

She was preceded in death by her father Elmer Spradling, mother Sytha Mae Spradling, loving husband Chester, brother Leslie Spradling and grandson David Allen Farquhar.

She leaves behind her brother, Alton Taylor and wife Cary Jane, sister Betty Fitzpatrick and husband Cas, daughter Debbie Grace and husband Steve, daughter Carlene Wells and son Danny Johnson and wife Nora. She also leaves behind 7 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

She was called JJ or Nanny to everyone, and that is how she wanted it. Janelle was baptized and attended Ridgetop Baptist Church and Northwest Baptist church in Austin. She was also a member of Eastern Star. She was a loving daughter, sister, mother, Nanny and friend.

She was a loving and caring person who put her own needs aside to care for her parents, other family members, friends and neighbors. Janelle was brought up to always work hard and had always appreciated even the little things in life. So she and Chester opened a business named Warner Window Coverings and worked side by side until they later retired. She also had a passion for flowers, so she began working with her daughter at her flower shop, Bloomin’ Across Texas and continued designing as best as she could until her body would no longer let her. Janelle was always involved in her kids activities, PTA, piano lessons, flute lessons and sports. She loved gardening but most of all she loved spending time with her family and making them her home cooked meals.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM on Thursday, October 5, 2017 at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow beginning at 3:00 PM at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery.

She will be missed dearly but will live in our hearts forever.
