She was known for her beautiful smile and generous heart. Grisell was a person of deep faith whose life reflected kindness, humility, and love for others. Guided by a strong devotion to God, she lived each day with compassion and grace, always putting the needs of others before her own. Grisell had a love for reading and found great joy in sharing wisdom and encouragement with those around her.
Known for her generous spirit, Grisell was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Grisell had a rare gift of making everyone feel welcome and valued, she never had an enemy. Whether offering a listening ear, words of comfort, or acts of kindness, she would do anything for anyone.
Grisell dedicated 26 years as a nurse at Austin State Hospital where she met her husband, Kenneth Bernard. They were married for 14 years.
Grisell will be remembered for a life filled with faith, generosity, and unconditional love. The kindness she shared with others will live in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
Grisell leaves behind a legacy of love that includes her loving husband, Kenneth Bernard; her children, Brooklyn Bernard, Keona Bernard and Stephfone Jones; her mother, Rosa Santiago; her siblings, Alexa Santiago, Eva Santiago, Samuel Santiago Jr.; and her cherished grandchildren, Gregory London, Jai’lynn Shoaf and Von Jones.
She is also survived by her nieces and nephews, James Rios Jr., JayShawn and CJ Brundidge, Brianna Santiago, Yazmine and Anya Swift; and brothers-in-law she held dear, Tim Santiago and Roger Swift, Jr.
She was preceded in death by her father, Samuel Santiago.
