

Harvey was born to Herman Klotz and Louise [Rodenbeck] Klotz and raised in Thorndale, Texas. He married Janet Werchan in 1957, after which they relocated to Austin. Upon earning a business degree, Harvey was employed by Calcasieu Lumber Company. In 1971, he then began a career with IBM when their new facility was opened in Austin, and ultimately retired there after 27 years of service.
Harvey lived a full life enjoying woodworking where he would spend countless hours in his workshop. Other favorites were hunting and fishing as well as listening to country western classics.
Harvey was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Louise. He is survived by his wife, Janet, and their two children, Bryan [Dina] and Brenda [Rodney]; brother Larry [Brenda]; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
On Saturday, April 22, 2023, a visitation will be held at 1:00 p.m., at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 1500 West Anderson Lane, Austin, followed by a Funeral Service beginning at 2:00 p.m. Graveside services will take place at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery with a reception to follow from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home, 14501 North IH 35, Pflugerville.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or to a church or charity of your choice.
