She attended public school in A.I.S.D
Helen was employed at AISD where she retired as head custodian at Ortega Elementary she was very proud of that position and went on to work as a Health care provider for various agencies. She was very passionate about the people she worked for.
Helen Wallace met and married the most beautiful and special man Henry Lee Collins in 1956. Henry was by her side through think and thin. He stood by her until death, She was his light and he was her guidance a love only a few can honestly say.
Helen confessed hope in Christ at an early age under the leadership of her late grand father Rev LeRoy Wallace at Greater St. John Baptist Church. Upon joining union with Henry she attend Rosewood Baptist Church under late G.M. Rutherford. She returned back to Greater St. John Baptist Church under Rev. Clarence Jones and remained till her health declined.
She truly loved life no matter what the occasion she was always prepared for it. She believed in positive things in life she always looked beautiful even if she was not going any where she always believe to be prepared at all times.
She is preceded in death by her parents, son Charles Henry Collins, Sister Laura T Fletcher, Aunt Lucille (David) Horton, Aunt Marie Prince Aunt Bertha Moore, Aunt Maxine Nance , Grand Daughter Cherrelle Collins, Various of Uncles, Aunts and Special Cousin Don Alvin Wallace Sr.
Helen leaves to mourn her passing a Loving and devoted husband Henry L. Collins her four sons Ronald Collins Sr. , Darrell Collins, Anthony (London)Collins, Adrian Collins, three daughters Cynthia Collins, Crystal (William) Fowler, Cheryl (Bruce)Crayton, Sis Kathyrn Brown , Sis Verna (Ricky) Stegall, Debra (Sandy) Strauggins Dorothy (William) Perkins, Stacy Cavanaugh, three brothers Joe Ree (Vonnie)Brown, Willie LeRoy Brown and Willie (Gwen) Brown, 2 step brothers in San Francisco CA 21 grand children and 18 Great Grand Children and 5 Great Great Grand Child. She is also survived by special friends of the family whom she loved and adored as her own children; Carolyn Washington and Jacqueline Nash.
A visitation for friends and family will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, April 12, 2019 at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville, Texas. Funeral services will begin at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 13, 2019 in The Memorial Chapel of the funeral home followed by an interment in Cook-Walden/Memorial Hill Cemetery.
