Henry was born to Pablo and Francis Medel on December 29, 1941, in Mexico. He lived a very humble life and was enjoyed and loved by all. Henry was a strong, quiet and reserved man with a generous heart. Henry worked in the trucking industry. He partnered with his brother and started M&M trucking which lasted 37 years. Though he was witty, a rare laugh was hard to come by. His hobbies were fishing, camping, dancing and listening to “Conjunto Music”.
He was preceded in death by his parents Pablo and Francis Medel, sister Alicia Medel, and son Henry Medel Jr. He is survived by his brothers, Robert and Oscar (Mary); sisters Gloria, Olivia, Zulema (Andrew), Mercedes (Ken), and Mary Ann (Rudy); son Adam (Julia); daughters Letitia, and Deborah (Albert); 11 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and countless friends. Henry (Kike) Mireles Medel will be dearly missed.
A visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Monday, August 27, 2018 with a rosary service beginning at 7:00 p.m. at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home. A funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. at St. Julia Catholic Church in Austin, Texas followed by an interment in Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery.
