Hester Paul Horton, Jr. of Austin Texas passed away on April 22, 2012 at the age of 77, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born February 28, 1935 in Houston, Texas to Hester and Dorothy Horton.
He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter Christal Ann Luevano.
He is survived his wife of 52 years, Hildegard Horton, son Bobby Horton and wife Judy of Austin; son Hester Horton III of Buda; grandchildren: Hester Horton IV of Austin; Andrea Rabel and husband Brian of Austin; Natalie Smith and husband Josh of Copperas Cove: great-grandchildren Mason Horton; Byron Rabel and Kaylee Smith; sisters, Shirley Frounfelker and Tootsie Garner; and a brother, Frank Horton.
He retired from the military in 1974 with 21 years of service and the City of Austin Electric Department in 1997 with 23 years of service.
Family and friends are invited to visitation from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at Cook-Walden Capital Parks Funeral Home, in Pflugerville, Texas. Graveside services with military honors will be held at 3:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at Cook-Walden Capital Parks Cemetery in Pflugerville, Texas.
