Horace Walton III of Round Rock, Texas, passed away on October 19, 2025, at the age of 69. He was born on September 15, 1956, in Victoria, Texas, where he grew up surrounded by faith, family, and the values that shaped his life.
Horace was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, cherished son, and loyal brother. His warm smile, generous heart, and steady presence were gifts to everyone who knew him.
After graduating from Stroman High School, Horace answered the call to serve his country with honor and dedication. He proudly served in the United States Air Force for 20 years, earning the respect of his fellow servicemembers and leaving behind a legacy of integrity, leadership, and commitment.
Following his military career, Horace continued his life of service and dedication by working for AT&T for another 20 years. His work ethic, dependability, and friendly spirit earned him lasting friendships and the admiration of his colleagues.
When he wasn’t working, Horace found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He loved spending time outdoors, whether fishing on a quiet lake or hunting with friends and family. A true sports enthusiast, Horace was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys and could always be found cheering for any team his children or grandchildren played for.
Horace was an active and faithful member of the Friendly Will Baptist Church of Georgetown, Texas, where he found strength, fellowship, and purpose through his faith and his service to others.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Walton, and his brother, Jeff Walton.
He is survived by his loving spouse of 47 years, Bessie Walton; his children, Keisha Walton, Kenneth Walton and wife Beth, Brandon Walton, and Erika Hicks and husband Willie Hicks; his beloved grandchildren, Samiah, Breyah, Savion, Trenton, and Aumari; his father, Horace Walton II; and his sister, Elaine Walton.
He will be deeply missed by a host of friends, his church family, brothers- and sisters-in-law, as well as nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family would like to thank Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Round Rock for the care and compassion they showed Horace and his loved ones during his final days.
Horace Walton III lived a life defined by love, laughter, faith, and service. His strength, kindness, and devotion to family will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know him.
A visitation will be held at Friendly Will Missionary Baptist, located at 706 W 14th St, Georgetown, Texas, 78626, on October 30, 2025, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.
The Celebration of Life will follow at the same location, beginning at 11:00 am.
A repast will be held at Friendly Will Missionary Baptist at 1:00 pm.
The committal service will take place at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery, 14501 North Interstate 35, Pflugerville, Texas, 78660, at 3:00 pm.
Honorary pallbearers will include Johnny Webster, Robert Stanley, Sylvester Thomas, Donald Thompson, Noward Bell, Jesse Little, Jesse Lomas, Chris Jordan, Derrick Glasper, Bennie Stanley, and the Men of Friendly Will.
