Howard C. Anderson - 84, beloved husband and daddy, was called to his eternal home with Jesus, Tuesday, April 19, 2022, at St. David’s North Austin Hospital with family at his side. He was born to Edward G. And Olivia Werchan Anderson on October 16, 1937.
Howard was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Gene Edward Anderson and Maurice Anderson, and Grandson Clayton Irwin, Jr. “Bo”
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Pat Anderson; daughters, Tammy Hann (Fred) of Bay City, Texas; Denise Halter (Rob) of Elgin, Texas; Grandchildren, Jessica Tyler (Shane) of Wharton, Texas; Jack Halter of Elgin, Texas; Betsy Halter of Seguin, Texas; and Lance Cpl. Bonnie Halter of US Marine Corp, Yuma, Arizona; Niece Kimberly Anderson of Kimbro, Texas; Nephew Kurt Anderson of Spring, Texas, and 5 great grandchildren
Howard grew up in Manor and attended Manor High School where he participated in sports, FFA, and graduated in 1956. He was instrumental in forming the first Manor High School reunion committee for the classes that graduated in the 1950s which later evolved to include the 1960s classes.
Howard was a Life-long member of Manor United Methodist church where he enjoyed serving the Lord in many ways. In addition to serving the Lord, he loved playing dominoes. He lived his life in service to others through membership in service organizations. A gentle and kind man with a big heart, he blessed many lives.
He served as a Volunteer Fireman in the Manor Volunteer Fire department and was the President of the Manor City Cemetery Association. He was also a past president of the Manor Lions Club. He was an Endowed member of the Colorado Masonic Lodge #96 Webberville, Texas. Scottish Rite, Ben Hur Shrine, and York Rite and was an active member of The Sons of Herman Lodge 120-2 of Austin, Texas. He Retired from The Texas State Board of Insurance after 32 years of service.
Services to honor Howard will be held Monday, April 25, 2022, at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral home in Pflugerville, Texas. Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. followed by a celebration of life at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Manor City Cemetery in Manor, Texas.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Howard’s honor to Shriner’s Children’s Hospital, Manor United Methodist Church trustees fund specifically for sanctuary maintenance, or charity of choice.
