

Howard Morris Huffstutler, Jr., 86, passed on May 10, 2025, in Austin, Texas, surrounded by his loving family. He was born February 20, 1939, in Palestine, Texas, to Howard Morris Huffstutler, Sr. and Sudie Mae Eleanor Huffstutler.
After graduating from Palestine High School in 1957, he served with distinction in the U.S. Air Force, where his expertise in computer programming helped modernize military records. He then earned a bachelor’s in business administration from the University of Texas at Austin. He was a faithful Master Mason in Good Standing for 50 years at University Masonic Lodge No. 1190 as well as a long-standing 32nd degree member of the Austin Scottish Rite of Freemasonry.
Howard’s dedication to both his profession and education must have touched countless lives. Building a successful accounting firm of 35 years, while also shaping future accountants as an adjunct professor is a rare combination of leadership and generosity. His commitment to service, his family, and his community speaks volumes about his character. His legacy is one that will continue to inspire.
Howard is survived his beloved wife of 63 years, Martha; his children, Howard III, Angela, Cynthia (husband Darren) with two granddaughters Katie and Ashley; his sister, Peggy Louise Vannoy and her son Stanley and daughters Linda and Larissa; nephew, Kenneth Rainwater; a treasured cousin, Beverly Cook-Glass and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Katherene Rainwater and nephew David Rainwater.
A graveside funeral service with military honors for Howard will be held Wednesday, May 21, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home & Cemetery, 14501 N Interstate Hwy 35, Pflugerville, TX 78660.
