After living a long and happy life, Ich Huu Phan passed peacefully into immortality after a short illness at his home surrounded by loving family members on August 30, 2024. He was 99 years old. His family feels blessed to have had him in their lives for such a long time.
He is survived by his wife Phan Thi Cuc, son Hanh Phan, and five daughters, Phan Thu Thuy, Yen Phan McCord and husband Jody McCord, Phan Thien Tam and husband Tran Cong Thanh, Phan Than My and husband Dai Ba Vu, and Phan Duy Linh and husband Nguyen Duy Than as well as eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
He retired as an accountant for the Department of Agriculture in Vietnam in 1991 before emigrating to the United States. He loved spending time with his children and sharing stories about his early life in Vietnam and his migration from North to South Vietnam. He was passionate about gardening and politics. He was an avid reader, following current events closely. He was a faithful practicing Catholic.
Cook Walden funeral home at 14501 N. IH-35 in Pflugerville, Texas will host a family viewing on September 15th from 1pm to 5pm and a public viewing on September 16th from 1pm to 5pm followed by a Rosary and Daily Mass at Holy Vietnamese Martyrs Catholic Church at 6pm. The funeral service will be held at the church as well on September 17th at 10am.
