Ms. Obamwonyi was an extraordinary English teacher and house mistress at Idia College, Benin City. She made queens out the girls under her tutelage. During her time at Idia College, she touched many lives, no one was spared from her influence.

May her soul rest in peace.

Ida, you will be very truly and greatly missed. Your candid opinions no matter how different it may be from all, your selfless service shown when we held our last outing as a Chapter at Austin and you hosted, and your very unassuming self.
I am grateful for all the time we worked together as executives of our Old School bcos I was closer to you then than at school. Rest at the bosom of the Almighty until that resurrection morning when all those who accepted His Son Jesus will meet and part no more. Ekenuye vbe erinmwin Evbue-Evbu!!!😇🙏🙏🙏

Miss Obawmonyi was my English Language teacher at Idia College, Benin City Nigeria (1988-1990). She was not just an ordinary teacher but our mentor, an inspiration and a motivator. Now that I am a teacher, I regularly engage her words, methods and teaching-strategies to spur my students onto greatness. Miss Obawmonyi will be deeply missed but she shall live in our hearts forever. Farewell Miss.
