Idola Grace Green

Idola Grace Whitehead Green was born in Georgetown, Texas, to Frank and Lela Whitehead. She married the love of her life in 1943, Dee Green, Jr. They had six children, Gloria Ann, Peggy, Sharon, Linda, Dee III and Stephen. She was a loving and nurturing wife, sister, mother, aunt and grandmother and always loved getting together for the holidays. She will be greatly missed by all.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Lela Whitehead, her husband Dee Green Jr., her infant daughter Gloria Ann, her daughter Sharon and eight brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her sister, Edith Todd; her daughters, Peggy (Raymond) Cruz, Linda Oertli; her sons, Dee Green III, Stephen (Sandy) Green, 9 Grandchildren, 14 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great Great grandchild.

She has lived in a nursing facility for the past two years and has made a lot of special friends there, especially her roommate Ms. Randall. They awoke every morning with “Morning Friend”. She also lost two special dining room friends this past year that sat with her.

A special thank you to Kindred Hospice and an extra special thank you to their CNA, Miss Patty. She always stopped by her room to give her a hug or to just say hello before taking her on as her patient with Hospice these past few weeks.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association or American Diabetes.
