

Ruby “Irene” Davis Israel, loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother passed away January 19th, 2013 at the age of 101 and 1 day. She was born January 18th, 1912 in Williamson County to Ellen Blair and Lonnie Davis. She was rescued from the farm through marriage to Elmer Israel on June 11th, 1931. They had two daughters, Virginia (Norman) Weiss and Frances (Robert) Raesz, and a son, Lester. She was an avid choir member and Sunday school teacher at Walnut Creek Baptist Church. She enjoyed traveling, talking on the phone, and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Elmer and their son, Lester as well as sisters (Louise Hale and Faye Sefton) and brothers (Jewel and Gene Davis). She is survived by her daughters, daughter-in-law, Joyce Israel, 8 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 9 great-great grandchildren. The family would like to extend their love and gratitude to her caregivers at Pflugerville Care Center.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 22, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery.
Grandsons Keith and Gordon Weiss, along with Bob, Russell, and Mark Raesz, and great grandson, Paul Suddeth, will serve as pallbearers.
