Irene Kunshick Smith

Irene was born in Freyburg, Texas on July 5, 1933 to Ed Kunshick and Johanna Cordes Kunshick. She was a graduate of Boling High School in Boling, Texas in 1950, and attended Wharton County Junior College in Wharton, Texas. She married Bobby Edward Smith of Windfall, Indiana in Austin, Texas on April 20, 1956. To this union one son, Darryl Edward Smith, was born.

Although Ms. Smith lived most of her life in Austin and Pflugerville, she grew up in Iago, Texas. She retired after 36 years of service with The Austin Diagnostic Clinic.

Irene is preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Edward Smith, her parents, Ed and Johanna Kunshick, and her sisters, Edna Gorubec and Edlen Bunnell.

She is survived by her son, Darryl Edward Smith of Pflugerville; one grandchild, Katheryn D. Smith of Pflugerville; and three great-grandchildren, Emily Ann Crawford, Matthew Wells Crawford and Adam Edward Crawford.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery in Pflugerville.
