Jack Huebner

Jack Huebner passed away December 5, 2021 in Austin, Texas at the age of 83. Jack was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy and a member of VFW Post #8787. Jack worked at Monroe Systems Business for 30 years.

A lifelong passionate racing fan, Jack was the original founding member and first president of River City Quarter Midget Association (RCQMA). He was instrumental in the acquisition of land and the construction of the Austin quarter midget race track, located on the grounds of VFW #8787, from start to finish. Construction on the track began in 1976 and the inaugural race was proudly held in 1977 on Thanksgiving weekend. From that day forward, Jack’s dedication and volunteerism positively influenced and affected 1000’s of kids. Jack and his daughter, Dana, created a formidable racing duo. They were a force to be reckoned with for the next decade, setting track records and dominating the competition across Texas and the surrounding states.

Jack was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Dena, shortly after celebrating their 55th wedding anniversary, and also by his grandson, P.J.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his four daughters, Dana Huebner Wilcoxen, Sherry Huebner Snoga, Cindy Allday, and Lori Gutierrez and his seven grandchildren.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation to be held on Tuesday, December 14, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville. A funeral service honoring Jack’s life will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at the funeral home chapel. He will be laid to rest with military honors in Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery.
