Janet M. Bowdy

Janet M. Bowdy, 81, of Hutto, Texas, passed away on January 8, 2021.

She was born in Danbury, Connecticut on July 12, 1939 to Edgar Seymour Jennings and Dorothy Kachele. Janet graduated from Bethel High School.

She was married to Bernard Bowdy on February 28, 1958. Janet had a career in nursing and worked at Danbury Hospital. In addition, she owned her own salon, Jan’s Hair Salon, where she was a hair stylist. She was a member of Justin Methodist Church and loved spending time with her family.

Janet is survived by her husband, Bernard Bowdy; her daughters, Virginia L. (Bowdy) Wood, Elizabeth (Bowdy) Boyd and Barbara (Bowdy) Raesz and her son, Thomas B. Bowdy. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

She was a beautiful, wonderful lady with a heart of gold! She always welcomed us with open arms. My daughters will always remember her as the “candy” lady as she made sure to have her candy jars full when we came to visit. Jan will be dearly missed but never forgotten! 💜

I will never forget Jan, she was kind, had Class, Jan was a lady who was always elegant, my memories of Jan go far back to the late 1960s i remember her smile, I remember shoveling snow from Jan and Bernie's driveway and sidewalks, and playing Jarts with Bernie in their backyard, Jan was a Beautiful lady who had style, i remember thinking she looked like a Movie Star, Later in life i learned that she was just as i remembered, I will miss her very much, I do believe she is now comfortable and flying with other Angels <3
