What a beautiful soul! Whoever knew Janice certainly loved her and her ability to find humor in any situation. Growing up in Austin and graduating from McCallum High School in 1972, Janice attended the University of Texas and enjoyed working at Northwest Hills Pharmacy for many years. She continued her career at the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality from which she retired. Always an antique collector, she amused customers in her Taylor and Elgin specialty booths with delightful items. She was also renowned for her culinary skills and especially her homemade peanut brittle. Janice was a lover of both cats and dogs and couldn’t turn any away when they wandered up and found her home and heart.
She is survived by her husband, Mark, and son Matthew, both who loved her very much and cared for her until her transition. She was preceded in death by her daughter Rachel, son Paul, and her parents Bruce and Sybil Fields.
She will be deeply missed by her extended family members and numerous friends. She was one of a kind. We are so thankful to all of you who have lifted her up with your prayers for many months.
Service will be held at 3:30 p.m., Wednesday, March 28, 2018, at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
