

It is with immense sorrow that we announce the passing of Jason Matthew Herrera, a beloved son, brother, and friend from Austin, Texas. Jason, who was born on September 24, 1999, left us far too soon on July 26, 2026, at the age of 26.
Jason’s vibrant spirit and kind heart will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his devoted father, Jason Herrera; his loving mother, Kristina; and his stepmother, Crystal. He also leaves behind his cherished siblings, Serenity, Ben, Joaquin, Jace, and Isabella; his beloved grandparents, Johnny and Mary Herrera, Brenda Boone and Cesar Rodriguez, and Jesus Reyes Sr. his uncles, Joseph (Gina), Jose (Karla), Johnny, Jeremy, and Eric; and his aunts, Veronica (Ruben), Vanessa (Raymond), and Monica (Greg), all of whom will forever hold his memory close.
During this profoundly difficult time, we take comfort in the words of John 14:27: “I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart.” We ask that you keep Jason’s family in your thoughts and prayers as they navigate this immense loss. His presence brought joy to so many, and he will be remembered for his warmth and the light he shared with the world.
A visitation will be held at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home, 14501 North Interstate 35, Pflugerville, Texas 78660, on August 3, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm.
