

Jennifer Lynn Spurgeon Summerfield, 39, passed away on Saturday, July 13, 2013 in Austin, Texas after fighting an illness with grace and bravery. Jennifer was born on April 17, 1974 in Monroe, Louisiana to Kitty Tutterow and John Spurgeon.
Jennifer was very passionate in her service to others and chose a career as a medical social worker, serving those less fortunate, especially those battling addiction and homelessness. She was a huge Dallas Cowboys football fan and known for her witty sense of humor. Jennifer was a triplet and enjoyed a very close relationship with her family.
Jennifer was preceded in death by her grandmother, Norma Holmes; her step-grandmother, Agnes McBride Holmes; her step-father, Michael Tutterow; and her father-in-law, Carl Summerfield.
To cherish her memory, Jennifer leaves behind her wife, Kerrie Summerfield; mother, Kitty Tutterow; father, John Spurgeon; brother, Neal Spurgeon and his wife Olga; sisters, Nicole Schlais and her husband Joe, and Heather Griffin and her husband Shane; nephews and nieces, Landry and Noah Schlais, Abilene Spurgeon, and Lakyn, Colton, Bryson, and Rilyn Griffin; and mother-in-law, Diane Summerfield.
Jennifer’s family will greet guests at a visitation to be held 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville, Texas. A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:30 pm on Thursday, July 18, 2013 in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery in Pflugerville.
