Jeremiah Gage Byrd Sr passed away unexpectedly on 26 November 2023 in Dallas, Texas at the young age of 26. He was born in Austin, Texas on 14 May 1997 and grew up in Pflugerville, Texas. Gage graduated from John B. Connally High School and followed in his father’s footsteps pursuing a profession as a Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Technician working at M. B. Kiser Heating & Air Conditioning in Dallas, Texas. His passion for his profession showed through his knowledge of HVAC and the work he did for his loyal customers.
From a very early age, Gage was the life of the party. He knew exactly how to make everyone around him laugh. He had an infectious smile and charm to match it. Anyone who knows him would tell you about his “amazing hugs”, and man were they the BEST! He had a knack for getting out of trouble when he made his mother laugh. Gage adored his mother and was not ashamed to be a momma’s boy! She was his light in the dark. Gage’s big heart and caring nature could be felt by everyone who met him. He made an impact wherever he went, whether it was his sense of humor, quirkiness, compassion, or impeccable knowledge of history.
Growing up, Gage loved to hang out with his older sister, Melinda. As the years went on, their bond became unbreakable. He always said that she was his hero. Gage was very musically inclined and joined the marching band in middle school and played throughout high school. He played multiple instruments including the tuba, slide trombone, and euphonium, joined the choir, and taught himself to play guitar. He had such a passion for it. Gage was an avid lover of the outdoors, anime, and video games. Gage loved food so much his first word was food! He enjoyed practicing martial arts, spending time with his cousins who were like siblings to him, and tinkering with everything he could. Gage was an incredibly devoted and loving father. He always said his greatest accomplishment in life was becoming a father and watching his children grow. Some of his favorite pastimes were introducing his favorite things to his sons Junior and Levi and doting on his baby girl, Aria. Nothing brought him more joy than being with his children.
He is survived by his 3 small children, Jeremiah Jr, Levi, and Aria; his mother and father, Melissa and Forest Jr; his older sister, Melinda, her husband Brian, and their children Blake & Emma; his brothers Aspen, Colton and his daughter Raelynn, Robert, and Brody; his Aunt Melinda & Uncle Danny and their children, Shayla, Kallen, and Darien; his aunts Lee Ann, Tiffannee and her daughter Addilynn, and Avery; and his grandparents, Dianne, James, and Forest Sr.
Gage was, is, and will always be the best person we ever knew. He is greatly missed and not a day goes by that he isn’t thought of. Our family is deeply saddened by his sudden departure but know that he is in Heaven looking down on us. Rest Easy Gage. Until we meet again.
