Joaquin Mercado

Rico's career spanned work in leadership in the automotive industry where he held the title of General Manager at several Firestone locations. He loved his career and it showed in the fast success he gained with this company. He also was a jack of all trades as he had just started a general contracting business, Reliable General Maintenance.

A few things he enjoyed were karaoke, riding and working on his motorcycle, shooting guns, parmesan cheese, experimenting different recipes in the kitchen and most of all spending time with his family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his Grandparents; Imogene and Delmo Scarborough and Ricardo Gutierrez Sr.

Those left to mourn his loss and cherish his memory include; His wife; Karen Mercado and 3 children, Joaquin IV, Asher and Brooklyn. Mother; Sharon Gutierrez & Dad; Ricardo Gutierrez Jr. Father; Joaquin Mercado Jr & Stepmom Sabine Mercado, Bonus Dad; Paul Mulitauaopele, Grandmother; Lenora Gutierrez, (7) sisters; Ashley Brown (Dondra), Amber Mulitauaopele (Steven), Elysa Gutierrez (Roberto), Kylee and Leila Mulitauaopele and Alexis Armenta (Ivan). He is also survived by nieces and nephews who he loved dearly as well as many many cousins and close friends.

A visitation for Joaquin will be held Tuesday, August 16, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home, 14501 North Interstate 35, Pflugerville, TX 78660, with a funeral service to follow.
