I just learned of the passing of my dear cousin, Joe Almanza and wish to offer my sincere condolences to the family. Joe and I grew up on the same block of E. 3rd St. in Austin and I have precious memories of our wonderful times as we developed into mature citizens of Austin.  Joe's mom, Perfecta Aleman Almanza was my dad's 1st cousin inasmuch as her father, Amado Aleman was the brother of Gregorio Aleman, my dad's father, (my grandfather)  We retain precious memories from my dad's memoirs of his growing up on a farm near Austin at Onion Creek, where the Almanzas also labored along with other immigrants from Mexico. The Almanzas moved into Austin when my parents did also so we shared memories & family history. Joe was a wonderful man and now has earned his deserved reward as he is in a better place.  May the Lord rest his soul. All the best to his family, Moses A. Aleman, McKinney, TX.

I only knew of his love shared to my friend and his son Jimmy.  I see his service to the country and know another good man was lost.  We join in prayer and share suffering of the earthly loss to look ahead to a heavenly reunion!

As a fellow alum and former co-worker of Joel I send my most sincere thoughts of condolences to Mr. Joe Almanza's family. May God's power of healing help all of you come through this trying time knowing that some day you will all be together again. I met Joe one day when he did bodywork on my taxi. His work was so professional that it passed the strict inspection rules placed by the taxi company. Mr. Joe Alamanza was a joy to know. May God bless all of you.

So sorry to hear of the loss of my uncle Joe. I will always remember him as a kind, quiet and gentle person. A wonderful brother to my dad and took such loving care of Aunt Anita.
