John Allen Carlton

John Allen Carlton, age 76, passed away at his home in Pflugerville on Sunday January 15, 2023. John was born on July 5, 1946 in Atlanta, Georgia. He graduated with a Bachelor's degree from North Georgia College before joining the Army in April 1969. He served as a Captain, in both the Vietnam and Korean wars before joining civilian life in October 1975 in Ft. Hood. He remained a Central Texas resident with a career in Aerospace Engineering, and Information Technology. He worked many years in the technology department for both Liberty Hill ISD, and Pflugerville ISD. John was an active member at First Baptist Church Pflugerville where he was a Sunday School Teacher for over 30 years. He enjoyed his retirement spending with both his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as helping people from his church family. John was survived by his loving wife of 38 years Pam Carlton; his daughter Jennifer Smith and her husband Mike of Gainesville, Georgia; his daughter Michelle Phillips and her children Kayla Sims, Grayson Sims and Wyatt Montgomery; his special great-grandchildren Jackson Sims and Beaux Gillum all of Pflugerville, Texas. John is also survived by his brother David Carlton and wife Joanne of Woodstock, Georgia. John will be remembered for his passion for Christ, and the love and care he had for everyone he met. A visitation for John will be held Saturday, January 21, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church Pflugerville, 306 10th, Pflugerville, Texas. A funeral service will occur Saturday, January 21, 2023 at 11:00 a.m., 306 10th St, Pflugerville, Texas. A committal service will follow the service at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery, 14501 North Interstate 35 Pflugerville, Texas.
