

He was a WWII veteran, having served as a member of the Army Air Corps. He recalls that period of his life as some of the best times he ever had, as he traveled the world and made lifelong friends. He and his fellow airmen were the best and the bravest. He retired from the Air Force after 23 years of service, and was the recipient of the American Campaign, Victory, and Good Conduct Medals and a Purple Heart.
He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Annie (Lally) Coyle; brothers, Lawrence and James; and his sister, Marion. His beloved wife, Ann Shirley Coyle passed away in December 2003. He is survived by two daughters; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren, who were the absolute loves of his life, Ethan Layne House and Cayman Elizabeth Garza.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio.
