John Paul Lee went home to be with the Lord as a result of a motorcycle accident in Austin, Texas on January 19, 2013. John was a twin, born to John Robert Lee and Connie Jean Lappert-Lee on June 28, 1971 at Tripler Army Medical Center in Oahu, Hawaii, where his dad was stationed in the United States Navy. John's mom preceded him in death on June 1, 1986, in Mesa, Arizona.
John was the "oldest" of the twins, born four minutes before brother Robert. They were preemies weighing in at a whopping 4 pounds 7 ounces and 4 pounds 11 ounces, respectively. They arrived with their "twin identities" unannounced, requiring a Special Navy Pediatrics doctor to be flown in (Jet Jump Seat) from San Diego for their 3 month stay in Preemie Care. After three months preemie care at Tripler, they were discharged from the Army Hospital.
John and Robert developed quickly. It is hard to discuss John without reference to Robert, as they have always been inseparable. You hear stories of twins many times, but you MUST raise them, or be one, to fully get the connection. In times of trouble or sharing good fortune, everything in life is "we or ours" ... "we are hungry", "we want to play" or "we are not sleepy".... you get the idea. Boys grow up - they go their separate ways - but twins stay connected.
John always had a "love affair" for nice rides, whether it was a Trans Am ... (he had a nice one in high school, which he loaned to Robert for a date ~ Rob parked it in a tree that night) ... or a slick Honda with a BIG muffler, John was in. John was a hard worker- and he liked to play hard, too. John pursued an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Phoenix and just lacked 6 semester hours in English to finish his degree. A great mechanic, John had also mastered paint and auto-body repair skills.
Having a GREAT sense of humor, John always fit in easily with the group he was with and he was well liked. John had many friends, and they will all miss him greatly! His family will miss him the most. We know that John was saved at an early age and we trust the Lord to have received John unto Himself.
John is survived by two children: his sixteen-year-old daughter, Eavenly Lee and his thirteen-year-old son, Alec Lee. He loved both his children VERY much. Unfortunately, John's life style choices prevented him from being the kind of Dad he always wanted to be.
John is also survived by his father, John Robert Lee and his step-mother Marcae Lee; his twin brother, Robert and his family which includes his son, Mikael Lee and wife Victoria, along with their two daughters, Serenity & Faith and son, Tanner; his sister, Tammy Jean Parker and husband, Brett, along with her family which includes sons, Ryan McClanahan & Jacob Parker; his sister, Natalie Nicole Lee and her three sons, Tommy, GB & Luke Galyon. John is also survived by his step-brothers and step-sisters, Shelly Ostlund & her daughter Hannah, Sonja Ostlund, and David Ostlund and his wife Jill, along with their son, Jonas & their daughter, Julia.
Visitation will be Friday, January 25, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2013 at 3:30 p.m. at Cook-Walden/Memorial Hill Cemetery, also in Pflugerville.
Memorial donations to "The Guiding Light Sober Homes" are suggested in lieu of flowers.
Please share memories of John and condolences with his family on his memorial page.
