John Thomas Shea

John was born on May 30, 1942 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Mike C. Shea and Helen Jeanette (Healy) Shea. John was employed for many years in management with the oil and gas industry. John was a caring, loving and truly devoted husband, father, step-father, grandfather, brother and friend to so many. He will be forever remembered for his true one of a kind personality that was filled with laughter, his sense of humor and his unique ability to talk and carry on a conversation with anyone. He was passionate about his family, friends, scuba diving, travels and history. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife, Jean Hale Shea; son, John Thomas Shea and his wife Athena of Cedar Park, Texas; daughter, Kristin (Shea) Hornsby and husband Gary of San Bernardino, California; three step sons, Kevin Hale and his wife Amy of Round Rock, Texas, Rodney Hale and wife Michelle of Haysville, Kansas and Chris Hale and his wife April of Georgetown, Texas; step daughter, Heather McCord and her husband Brian of Friendswood, Texas; grandchildren, Jerry Shea, Sarah Shea, Christian “CJ” Bagdasarian, Kenneth and Darin Kleb, John and Stacey Pousson, Nick Hale and Katy Hale, Maddison Hale, Jaedyn Hale and Nathan Hale; step-grandchildren, Wesley McCord and Randall McCord; one great grandchild Benjamin Pousson; two sisters, Bonnie Jean Shea and Sherry Bossard and her husband Phil; as well as many extended family members and close friends.

John was preceded in death by his brother James P. Shea.

A Graveside Service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 4, 2020 at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery, 14501 North Interstate 35, Pflugerville, Texas 78660. Pastor and family member Rodney Hale will be officiating.
