I can't believe it's been a year since you went to be with The Lord. You and your family remain in my prayers.

It's been over a month, and I am still devastated. Work has not been the same without you. I miss your smile, your jokes, your analyzing, YOU! I only knew you for a short while, but we clicked instantly. It was like we had known each other a lifetime. I hate that we didn't get to properly say good bye, but I know you are in a better place now. I am missing you, and I will always remember you! 
Your wife and child were/are so lucky to have had someone so incredible to be apart of their lives. Andrea if you need anything, I'm here.

Andrea, so sorry to hear about John's passing. Wish I could have come down for the services. John was such a good kid growing up.  Funny, loving, easy going and caring.  I remember when you were going to get married, how he brought a Bridal book up. His dad, me and Johnnie were at a restaurant here in Hughson, and Johnnie was showing me pictures of different things he liked.  I know you miss him!  Just remember the good times you shared together, places you went, things you did, plans you made.  The baby you are expecting.  These are the things you looked forward to, together.  Remember his laugh, smile. And oh, how he loved SUPERMAN!!!!   Just know, you and your little SUPERMAN, are in my thoughts and prayers.  Love to you both.  Aunt Marie.

Superman has left the planet, but while he was here his strength, character, courage and love blessed all that came within his area of influence. He truly is a Super Man and I will miss him greatly. I will never forget the clowning we did at his wedding. The dance was one of the funniest and most spontaneous acts of improv I have ever had the chance to be part of. But when we were around each other no one, not even the two of us knew what we were going to say or do next. I also remember one birthday when I snuck in a Superman Jim Lee figure I had acquired and knew it needed a worthy home. Who else to entrust it to but the Man of Steel! I snuck it in the house, gave it to Andrea and asked her to put it into his Superman case. He always wanted to show me his new aquisitons and I could not wait to see the suprise on his face when he realized he had one more than he started with before I got there. Sure enough, we went upstairs and started talking about Superman and what was out and the things he had added to his collection since the last time I visited.We went to the display case and he was telling me about what he had done to make it nicer and what he had added and then this puzzled look came over his face. He paused, thought for a second and looked at me, I kept a straight face and asked him what was wrong, was there something missing. He said no, but there was something different and he could not quite put his finger on it yet. I stood there watching him and saw him look at the figure. He looked at me again and I smiled this great big smile and said "Happy Birthday, Bro!" He hugged me, I hugged him and we laughed. He asked how I got it in past him and I told him "Batman can do anything, especially apppearing and disappearing when you least expect it." He laughed and we went back down to the guests. John, you are my best friend and I will miss your earthly presence but your Spirit and essence live on in every crazy wonderful, moment we spent together. There were enough of those to last several life times, each funnier than the one before. Rest in Peace Kal-El, Truth, Justice and The American Way live on in my heart because of you. Dear Andrea,

John, I never really got a chance to know you, and I wish I did. From meeting you for the first time here at La Grange VA Clinic, i knew you were a cool guy! I was super excited when they sent me to Temple VA to train, I didnt want anyone else but you! Plus, I knew you enjoyed having me down there because it got you out of work!! I will always keep you, Andrea and "superboy" in my thoughts, heart, and prayers! You went too soon, but God needed his own Superman up there to keep everybody in check!! Miss ya bud!

I have so many memories of John here from work at the VA in La Grange. John was always clowing, playing jokes, sneaking up on people, making us laugh....it was endless. He hated to see us cry or be upset. He was like the big brother of the office. Always smiling. I thank God for blessing us with such a wonderful man. We will see you again someday John and I am sure you will be wearing your Superman shirt waiting for us and flying with the BEST. Love you my friend. Cheri

John, I can NOT find words right now..... SHOCKING I KNOW.... I will never forget the day we met in Temple at the VA Medical Center. Im so thankful that I got to be part of your life and Andrea's. Remembering All those crazy nights we would stay up drinking and smoking together on the front porch, All the random text messages, pictures, and ALWAYS sneaking up on me at work and just sitting there until I finally saw you..... YOU SCARED THE CRAP OUT of me everytime, and I cant leave out the fact that you always had WHITE shoes and you even carried shoe polish with you because you were anal about your shoes getting dirty. lol You were like another big brother to me and I will always remember you and will DAMN sure let Sammie know everything about his daddy..... I MISS YOU SO MUCH and you will always be in my heart. Love you Superman!

Wow! What can you say that wasn't funny about John? He just had that kind of personality to make you laugh no matter what kind of mood you were in. Peggy Horner mentioned he eyebrow...Haha I remember him especially when he was imitating The Rock on WWE, but better because he had his own little twist on it...HAHAHA. At the time we met John, Cathie, Jennifer, And Daniel at Sis Woods Church...My daughter Kayla was very young. He would always pull his ears and do what he called the monkey face to make her laugh. For a long time, Kayla never knew his name. She would always refer to him as big Ears or Monkey boy.HAHAHA John was totally ok with it as he would just raise that eyebrow and laugh it off. HAHAHA.  Not only  was John a joy to have around, but an inspiration to me and my family. John, Thank you for all the laughs and memories! Thank you for being such a good friend. You will Never be forgotten my friend R.I.P.

I will miss you John.  I will miss your random text messages, emails and pictures.  I remember our days together at Fort Lewis with a smile on my face.  You tried so hard to become the best medic in my section.  You surpassed that and became like a little brother to me.  I will miss you.  I regret not living closer to Texas these past few years.
