Uncle Johnny was simply the best. I have never met or known a man that was more caring or as kind. He always had a smile on his face and brought joy to everyone that he met. I have wonderful memories of him that always make me smile.

A wonderful man from a wonderful family...a great father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.  We love you, daddy.

 I always admired my dad but did not remember just how much till this past weekend. I very seldom imposed favors upon him but there was always great comfort in knowing he was always there if I needed him.    I always knew that if I were broke down in a snowstorm in  the middle of nowhere hundreds of miles from anything he would somehow come to the rescue and would not complain about a thing except bad weather itself.    Even though I knew it was not practical these past few years, I lost that great comfort that he had my back. 
 I love you Dad!

Love the pictures! Great to see Aunt Charlene and Uncle Johnny together. Great peace in knowing that they are together again... he was a wonderful man and great example of what a man, dad, uncle & brother should be. He taught me how to dance, live, laugh and love! What a wonderful man Johnny Wayne Short was.. Love you all  Toni
