Jose Estrada Castillo

Joe was born and raised in Pflugerville, Texas, the son of Florentino Castillo and Bonifacia Estrada, and brother to nine siblings. Joe was very ambitious with his entrepreneurial drive that led to several successful business ventures.

Dad was our “MacGyver,” he could fix anything he put his hands on and seemed to have a tool for everything. Dad took pride in being a part of the IBM family and retired from a long and successful career there.

Dad was a well-known Pflugerville resident respected within the community, often called upon in time of need and guidance. Loved and adored by his family and friends, he was a hard-working individual, a family man, and mentor to everyone who knew him. With a lifelong love of classic cars and corvettes, such as his 1955 Chevy Pick-up Truck and 1981 Chevrolet Corvette, he loved to keep “busy” with projects around the house, taking Sunday drives, working on his cars, and cutting the grass with his John Deere lawn mower.

He is survived by his wife, Esther H. Castillo, five children, six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and three siblings, Santos and Jesse Castillo, and Mary Tello.

A visitation for Jose will be held Tuesday, July 18, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home, 14501 North Ih-35, Pflugerville, TX 78660. A rosary service will occur Tuesday, July 18, 2023 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM, 14501 North Ih-35, Pflugerville, TX 78660. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, July 19, 2023 at 10:00 AM, St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church, 1520 N. Railroad Ave., Pflugerville, TX 78660 with burial to follow at Cook Walden Capital Parks Cemetery. There will be a reception to follow at 1:00, at the St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church parish hall.
