Josephine "Josie" Carlin Hernandez

She was preceded in death by her father (Melecio Carlin), sister (Sally Carlin Castillo), brother-in-law (Jamie Hernandez) and mother-in-law (Mary R. Hernandez).

She is survived by her husband of 40+ years, Inez Hernandez Jr.; mother Victoria Carlin; brothers Dan Carlin (Debra), Andrew Carlin, Ricardo Carlin (Bonnie); sisters Rachell Beltran (Robert), Beckie Carlin (Jose Navejas). sister-in-laws Mary Ellen Hernandez (Joe Ramirez), Margret Reyna (Robert), and Amanda Carlin; father-in-law Inez Hernandez Sr. and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces/nephews.

Josie taught religious education and was an RCIA co-catechist for fourteen years at St. Louis King of France Catholic Church. She taught English as a Second Language for two years. Josie was an original member of the Prayer Blanket Ministry.

One of her proudest family moments was being one of the founding members of St. William Catholic Church in Round Rock, TX.

In lieu of flowers, Josie requested charitable donations be made to Relevant Radio at P.O. Box 10707 Green Bay, WI 54307 or St. Jude’s Children Hospital, P.O. Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101.

Josie would like to extend her gratitude to her Tia Cuca Zamarripa and family and to her church and work friends for all the time they spent with her.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., with a rosary and prayer service at 7:00 p.m., on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville. The Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at St. Louis King of France Catholic Church, 7601 Burnet Road, Austin. Committal services will follow at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery in Pflugerville.
