Joyce Marie Goldsberry, 84, of Cedar Park, Texas, went home to be with Jesus on June 28, 2022. Joyce was born in Monroe City, Texas, on January 21, 1938, and grew up in Jacksonville, Texas, where she graduated high school. This was where she met the love of her life, Tommy Goldsberry, and they married May 29, 1957 and recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary. Upon marrying, they hopped in a ’49 Ford and headed south to Austin, Texas, where they made a home and started their family. They had two sons, Robert Alan Goldsberry and Stephen Lee Goldsberry. While Austin was always their home base, life’s adventures also took them to Louisiana, Mississippi, Virginia, and Italy.
Joyce was a dedicated wife and beloved mother, and her favorite role was being “Meme” to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a woman of great faith, strong convictions and was full of generosity that she shared with all whom she encountered. Her love for Jesus was evident in how she lived her life and loved others. She was a passionate woman who enjoyed painting, jewelry, shopping, and traveling with Tommy.
She is preceded to Heaven by her mother and father, Hazel Marie Stadler and Zack Williams, and son, Stephen Lee Goldsberry. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-love, Robert (Alan) Goldsberry and Jeanie Ann Goldsberry, and her grandchildren Joe Don Goldsberry and wife, JoEllen Goldsberry, Robert (Bobby) Lee Goldsberry and wife Lauren Goldsberry, Glenn Goldsberry and Katelyn Goldsberry and her great-grandchildren, Madison Rebecca Goldsberry, Ethan Jackson Goldsberry, Everett Emerson Goldsberry, and Makenna Hope Goldsberry.
Her life will be forever cherished in the hearts of those who love her. We find great joy and peace knowing that we will be reunited with her in Heaven, and we do not mourn as those who have no hope (1 Thess 4:13).
A graveside service for Joyce will be held on Friday, July 8, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery, 14501 North Interstate 35, Pflugerville, TX 78660.
