Juan U. Gomez

Juan U. Gomez, a former greeter at Wal-Mart in Taylor for 15 years, passed away on May 23, 2015 at the age of 93. He was born in Nixon, Texas on April 9, 1922 to Florencio Gomez and Juanita Uriagas. Juan served proudly in the U.S. Army and was married to Elisa Rodriquez for 74 years.

Juan was preceded in death by his daughters, Maria Elisa Gomez (Torres) and Adelaida Gomez and his parents, Florencio and Juanita Gomez. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Elisa Gomez (Rodriquez); three sons, Johnny and wife Blanca, David and wife Dora, and Victor and wife Elsa; four daughters, Petra Martinez, Viola Rabago, Victoria and husband Alberto Estrada, and Josie Gomez; twenty-three grandchildren, thirty-two great-grandchildren and eighteen great-great grandchildren.

Juan was a long time member at Guadalupe Catholic Church in Taylor, Texas and St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Pflugerville, Texas. He was a resident of Pflugerville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Pflugerville, Texas for four years.

Juan's family will greet guests at a visitation to be held Wednesday, May 27, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. with the recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home, 14501 North Interstate 35, Pflugerville, Texas. A Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, May 28th, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, 1520 North Railroad Avenue, Pflugerville, Texas. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Cook-Walden Memorial Hill Cemetery in Pflugerville, Texas.
