

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Juan Rodriguez Jr., a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and a proud Vietnam War veteran, who peacefully left us on March 11, 2025. He was 81 years old.
Juan dedicated his life to his family, his country, and his church community. A retired member of the United States Air Force, he served with honor and distinction during the Vietnam War, where his courage and commitment to duty made a lasting impact. He was awarded one of the highest honors, the distinguished flying cross. His love for his country was matched only by his love for his family, and his devotion to them remained steadfast throughout his life. A proud graduate of the University of Texas in Austin, Juan was a lifelong Longhorn fan and cherished his time there, forming memories that would last a lifetime. He was known for his strong work ethic, unwavering dedication to his family, and a kind heart that touched the lives of all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Manuela Gonzalez; his father, Juan Rodriguez Sr.; his brother, Manuel Rodriguez; and his beloved son, Juan Rodriguez III.
He was a loving and supportive husband to Janie Rodriguez, with whom he shared almost 60 years of marriage. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. He was a proud father to his daughters, Lisa and Yolanda, and father-in-law to Frankie Medrano and Juan De Leon, all of whom he loved deeply.
As a grandfather and great-grandfather, Juan found joy in spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His legacy will live on through his grandchildren, Frankie, Necole, Carol, Billy, Jessica, Kaci, Joe, Ally, and Matthew, as well as his many nephews, nieces, cousins, great grandchildren and extended family members.
A man of great character, Juan was known for his wisdom, humor, and generosity. He was a mentor and friend to many, always ready to lend a hand or share a story. His presence will be greatly missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
A viewing and Rosary will be held on Thursday, March 27th from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Cook Walden Funeral home. The funeral will be held on Friday, March 28th at 10:00 am at St William’s Catholic Church. The family invites all those whose lives he touched to come and celebrate his life, share memories, and honor his legacy.
