She moved to the U.S. as a child with her mom, they decided to make New York their home. Judy graduated from James Monroe High School and soon after met her husband, John Reimers. They wed on March 28, 1943 and had 3 children: Randy, Ronald and Lori.
Judy became a caregiver and homemaker for the remainder of her life. John got a job in California so they picked up and headed cross-country and made California their new home. Tragedy struck when the oldest son, Randy got in a car accident and died at the age of 18 years old.
Judy’s only daughter, Lori grew up and married and had one child, Christina Reimers in September 1980. Judy and John ended up in Austin, Texas, when he got a job transfer, Lori and her daughter, Christina went with them as Ronald went on to be a college professor at California Berkley.
In 2001 tragedy struck again and Judy’s husband, John died of cancer at the age of 78 years old. Lori, Judy and Christina remained close.
Judy enjoyed going to the movies, reading magazines, and painting and loved the newest beauty trends. In 2005 unexpectedly Lori’s life was cut short with the spread of cancer. Since that time Judy’s only grandchild Christina remained close and Judy ended up living with her and her husband and their daughter, Kayleigh.
She is survived by her estranged son, Ronald Reimers; granddaughter Christina Anderson and husband Blaine and her great granddaughter, Kayleigh.
