Julie was born in McAllen, Texas on August 23, 1946. She was raised in Harlingen, Texas and received her Bachelor's Degree in English and her Master's Degree in Journalism from Texas A&I University, now Texas A&M University at Kingsville. She taught English and Journalism at the middle school, high school, and college levels in California and Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edythe and Hugh Dailey of Harlingen.
She is survived by her husband, Paul of Georgetown, Texas; her daughter, Lindsey of Beeville, Texas; and her brother, Michael of Harlingen, Texas. Also surviving Julie are nephews, Jeremy Dailey of Austin, Corey Dailey of Austin, and Nick Hagen of Chicago, Illinois; niece, Molly Hagen of Washington, DC; brother-in-law, Don Hagen and his wife Wendy of Washington DC.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Hearthstone Health Center, Girling Hospice, Yolanda Gramm and Dolores Esters for the wonderful care provided to Julie. The family also wishes to acknowledge the dedicated care furnished by Dr. David Morledge and countless friends that offered support to the family.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, January 30, 2014 at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home, 14501 N. Interstate 35, Pflugerville. Funeral service will be held in the Memorial Chapel of the funeral home at 10:00 am on Friday, January 31, 2014. Interment will be held at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery.
