Junior Lee Williams, 65, entered into heavenly rest on August 5, 2020. He was born on March 28, 1955 to Bernice Williams of Taylor, Texas and Larry Gray. “Bubba” as he was called by his family and friends. He was the second child of five siblings.
Junior attended school in Taylor, Texas. He graduated from Taylor High School in 1974. He went to work for Relax Apparel in 1975, which required him to travel, something he loved to do. He also worked for McNeil Consumer Products of Round Rock, Texas in 1981, and Southland Inc., known as 7-11, until his retirement in 2002 due to a disability.
Junior loved the Lord. He and his family spent a great deal of time attending church. Through the years, they were members of Taylor No. 1 Church of God in Christ and Whole Truth Church of God in Christ of Taylor, Texas. On Sunday, August 9, 1981, he moved his membership and became a member of Church of God in Christ No. 1 in Austin where he and his wife remained faithfully committed members. He was eventually appointed as a Deacon in the church. His love for his church, its members and especially his beloved Pastor, Supt. Robert A. Davis, kept him joyously busy – he never complained but was always quick to offer his help. He served his local church and the District (Treasurer) with excellence until he was hospitalized.
Deacon JR loved to sing (traveling to churches near and far), loved to dress sharp and could always be counted on to make you laugh. He was so easy going and took life one day at a time. He was a true Servant worker, a giver, and a supporter of the church as a whole. His calm demeanor, cheerful smile, pleasant attitude and willingness to serve will be sorely missed.
Junior met and married his loving wife, Linda Dukes, in August of 1981 and to this union was born three sons, David, Robert and Kenneth.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandmother, Alice Williams. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Linda; his sons David Lee of Round Rock, Texas, Robert Tyrone (fiancée Crystal) of Killeen, Texas, Kenneth Leon (Brittni) and his first grandchild, Kanan of San Antonio, Texas, whom he was so happy to meet; his Aunt Dorothy Williams of Aurora, Colorado; his siblings, Laresa Thomas of Denver, Colorado, Michael Goins of Hutto, Texas, Harvey Randall (Cheri) of Belton, Texas and Marie Ingram of Copperas Cove, Texas; his in-laws Phyllis Williams, Rosalind Dukes, Joe Lee Dukes and Sandra Dukes all of Austin, Texas and Walter Dukes (Yolanda) of Tomball, Texas, as well as, a host of other cousins, nieces, nephews, family members and friends.
We love you. See you later.
