Karen E. Wagner, 59, of Buda, died Monday 14, 2012. She was preceded in death by her father-in-law, mother-in-law, and brother-in-law Wagner (on her husband’s side); and maternal grandparents Courtney and Morgan. Karen is survived by her beloved husband, Ralph Wagner of Buda; daughter, Jennifer Wagner of Austin; son, James Michael Cook of Garfield; father and mother, William “Red” and Geneva Morgan of Austin; sister, Peggy Estes of Kyle; brother, David Morgan of Kyle; sister-in-law, Cheryl Morgan of Kyle; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Karen was born on July 27, 1952 in Austin, TX. She attended Del Valle High School and graduated in 1970. Karen married Ralph Wagner on May 20, 1977. She was a wonderful mother, sister, daughter, and child of God. Karen is and was a caring, loving, and a passionate individual. Karen loved to bake and be around friends and family as much as possible. She was a 25-year veteran for the Southeast Travis County Volunteer Fire Department (SECTO). Karen substituted for the Del Valle ISD as a nurse. She was also employed as a food service worker for the Austin Transitional Center of Del Valle, where she worked for about 8 years. Karen and Ralph would have celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary this coming May 20th.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 17 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Cook-Walden Capital Parks in Pflugerville, Texas. Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, May 18 also at Cook-Walden Capital Parks with committal services following.
